RECENT DEVELOPMENTS FROM KHERSON

Recently we had a call with our ministry partner, military chaplain Alexander. Russia has shelled villages in the Kherson region 50 times just today. Kherson has about 100,000 inhabitants. Evacuations have taken place but many have chosen to remain in their hometown. We decided to buy plywood sheets and rain covers for 300 houses in the Kherson area to protect them from snow and cold. At the same time, wood-burning stoves are being delivered to homes in the area.

House Buried in Herson County
A tragic scene to witness, a car is buried after a missile strike. However, the occupants continue to survive in this destruction.

A phosphorus bomb
The forward section of a Russian phosphorus bomb landed in the yard of this home. Phosphorus weapons burn everything at ground level.

Sasha wonders how to repair this
Sasha, our good friend and military chaplain, is wondering how much plywood sheet is needed to repair the roof of this home. Plywood sheets have been ordered for 300 hundred houses damaged in the recent bombing.

Tarp to wrap devastated buildings
The roofs that were destroyed during the bombing were covered by tarpaulin fabric.

People waiting for stoves
The first shipment of stoves was delivered to the villagers of Chernobayev in the Kherson region.

Briquettes for repairing
Pre-cut firewood was brought to Kherson by truck. There are exceptionally few trees in the Kherson region.

Hannu in front of city hall
The Russian army hit its target. It’s hard to fathom the brutality of the enemy. This used to be part of Kherson city hall.
