”Brave Ukraine” – photo exhibition opens up views of everyday life during war

February 24 2024 marks the second anniversary of Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine. The physical, mental, and social suffering and destruction experienced by Ukrainians are unparalleled in recent history. As the war continues, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians have lost their lives, a whole generation has been traumatized by the horrors of war, and the destruction is enormous.

The City of Turku and Turku-based companies together with UkraineAid organized a photo exhibition from the war in Ukraine this past February at the Turku Art House, on Nunnankatu 4, Turku.

Brave Ukraine – photo exhibition shows the realities of war to the viewer. The exhibition contains many photos from the frontline, the distribution of humanitarian aid, and everyday life in the middle of the war. The photo exhibition was free of charge and people were encouraged to donate to help the victims of the war.

Hannu Haukka, the executive director of GCMM/IRRTV who recently returned from the frontline in Ukraine, reported on the latest news from Ukraine. According to him, our ministry partner building was recently targeted by a Russian drone and missile attack. As a result of the explosion of anti-aircraft rockets, shrapnel landed near our partner’s building and wounded some of their volunteers. We ask you to remember Ukraine in a difficult time, especially as we note the second anniversary of the war, February 24. There is feared anticipation of increased attacks from Russia on Ukrainian soil.

If you want to be involved in relieving the pain of the Ukrainian people, you can Donate using our form. Thank you for your gift!
